As leather sofas and leather chairs get older, stitching can be prone to come adrift on high-wearing areas such as leather seats. Where the stitching is under tension and the leather stretches, it force’s the seam on the leather cushion to burst open. Where the leather furniture’s stitching has failed, in many cases, this can be hand stitched sewing the leatherback together with arise cross double stitch. If however, this requires more work we can strip the leather panel section and machine stitch this for extra strength.
In many cases, when leather sofas and leather chairs are 10 years and older, the leather stitching can perforate on the same line. At first glance, this would appear the stitching has come adrift when, in actual fact, this is torn. This is not a problem for the Leather expert as we can replace leather panels. Most leather furniture is made in sections, bit by bit we can reverse this leather upholstery process gaining access to the faulty leather panels which then allows us to machine stitch new coloured matching replacements. Leather furniture comes in many different styles, tones and colours which we will match.
Also worth, bearing in mind if fixed leather seat panels of being replaced and reupholstered. It may be worth considering the condition of the seat foam interior. To strip a leather sofa down and to remove the seat section would naturally allow access to replace any degraded Seat Foams, it would be practical and cost-effective and worth discussing costings.
While the replacement leather panels were being stitched into place the Seat foam interiors could be fitted.
So whether it’s decorative stitching that needs re-sewing, internal stitching that needs sewing crossways for strength or sewing in replacement colour-matched leather panels, the leather expert can most definitely help.
